When I got married, The Knot was my best friend. They have this extensive list of everything you can think of when it comes to wedding planning and they schedule the activities out over a 12-month period. Plus, as a member of The Knot you can customize your list by adding or removing certain items based on your wedding planning needs.
I NEED A BABY LIST!
It's driving me crazy that nothing exists for baby planning. The shopping list of what to buy is covered everyone under the sun wants your money for that but what about a list of all the baby planning activities you need to do and when? For example at what point to should I start looking for a doula, when do I need to start looking at day care options, how about a pediatrician, and how far in advance should you paint a baby room so that the fumes aren't an issue? I have all these questions and not one of the 6 baby books on my dresser can answer them! This sucks, I may have to create my own list...

You could make a lot of money with a project like that. Get together with some other mommies to be and new mommies and write a book. A manual. A bible. And call it...
"The Master Checklist for New Mommies"
or
"A Little Baby Help for the New and Clueless"
you get the drift. I can't wait to pick up a copy in my local Borders. I hope you'll sign my copy.

UPDATE - I found a list! BabyZone.com has a pregnancy to-do-list starting with 165 items. And at nearly 18-weeks I still have 106 things to do. It may be overwhelming for some but just having a list to refer to has been really calming for me. Yey for BabyZone!
