She's eating 3 solid meals a day now including a few finger foods. All soft stuff because although she's teething off and on she still doesn't have teeth (I don't mind since she's still breastfeeding). I enjoy making her food (who would have thought?). Although I did buy baby yogurt, that just looked to difficult to make. She eats all kinds of foods including green beans, sweet potatos, prunes, apples, pears, peas and the list goes on. We haven't started meats yet, I'm going to wait until she has teeth even though they say it's safe to introduce meats at this age. Being that she's steadily growing I think she'll be fine - she's 17lbs now!
Sleeping through the night? Not quite she still wakes me up 2x's a night but she is getting better about sleeping on her own. Yeah even though it breaks my heart we are starting to transition her to her own bed. She has good days and not so good days but overall it's going okay. When she wakes up for her 3am feeding I'm usually too tired to put her back in her crib so that's when she stays with us.
I'll end this post with a few of my favorite Alana moments (it was hard to narrow them down but here are my top 5):
- I love watching her at swim class. She is like a little fish and she just loves swimming.
- I love watching her expression when she's standing. Like I said above, she gets so exicited and giddy, it's really cute.
- I love how excited she gets when I pick her up after work. She starts squealing with excitment and starts crawing to me immediately.
- I love that she can hug me now. She's a big hugger and holds me tight - I feel so loved!
- And my favorite is when she gives me a big wet kiss! Yeah it's kinda gross but I still love it! I give her farty kisses on her face and she loves it and now she gives them back to me, it's adorable.
